Hello from an increasingly dark and autumnal West Coast of Scotland, where the cutting garden is sliding towards into its winter sleep. Today I’m talking about a somewhat non-sexy side of growing your own flowers, but a crucial one - soil, and what you can do to improve it. There will be minimal science (there are lots of folks who talk about this much more knowledgeably if you’d like to know more) but a lot of practical thoughts on how to pep up your ground for the next growing year, and some gratuitous photos of compost bins.
